We are an NHS General Practice serving 13,700 people.  We have been providing health care for patients in Alton and surrounding villages for over 60 years. We are based in Alton Health Centre, on the north east of the town centre.

Our doctors practise family medicine offering around 50,000 consultations a year, with our nursing team extending this capacity. We see and treat some 1000 minor injuries every year in a purpose built unit within the Health Centre.

The practice provides cover to seven nursing or residential homes and offers an occupational health service to local businesses.

Our team of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals offers a wide range of general medical services, health promotion, minor injury and preventive medicine and we aspire to provide the highest standards of care.

ON-LINE ACCESS - IMPORTANT NOTICE

Our software changed in August. If you book appointments or order repeat medication on-line you will need new registration details - the old details will no longer work. Please collect from Reception.

PLEASE NOTE: we are no longer able to provide on-line access for patients under the age of 16.

YELLOW FEVER VACCINE SHORTAGE

We are unable to secure supplies until mid October, so if you need this vaccination before then, you may want to try one of the bigger, private travel medicine clinics this autumn. Apologies, this is due to a national supply issue.

CERVICAL SMEAR appointments

Smears are booked with our Well Woman-trained nurses, not GPs, so cannot currently be booked using the on-line service - you will need to telephone to make an appointment. Our aplogies for this We are looking into how we can make nurse appointments available on-line but, because the time required for the different activities they undertake varies, this is presenting some challenges currently.
