CERVICAL SMEAR appointments

Smears are booked with our Well Woman-trained nurses, not GPs, so cannot currently be booked using the on-line service - you will need to telephone to make an appointment.  We are delighted to be able to offer these in some of our Improving Access clinics (between 6:30pm and 8pm and on some Saturdays, which we know is helpful.

Surgery Opening Hoursclock2

Reception: core opening hours

Monday - Friday                8.00am - 6.30pm

Improving Access (see below - prebookable routine appointments only)  

Monday - Friday                6:30pm - 8:00pm at one of four local surgeries including The Wilson Practice

Saturday                           8:00am - 10:00am at one of four local surgeries including The Wilson Practice

Sunday                              9:00am - 12 noon  based at Basingstoke Hospital (RG24 9NA)

GP routine consulting hours 

Morning Surgery                8.10am - 11.10am
Afternoon Surgery             4.00pm - 6.10pm - with some earlier appointments

Urgent appointments

If you need urgent (but not emergency) primary care our 'Duty' team (GP and one or two Advanced Nurse Practitioners ) are available during the practice core hours. Calls to Reception needing same day attention will be called back by one of the Duty team in the first instance, in order to discuss with you the best way to assist with your problem. 

For any medical emergency - whatever time of the day or night - call 999.

Minor Injuries Unit

For everyone - not just Wilson Practice patients - who have suffered an injury in the last 48 hours that needs medical attention

Monday - Friday                8.00am - 6.30pm

A31 Group of Practices: Improving Access surgeries

These are available for pre-booked GP and nurse appointments (for patients from, and staffed by clinicians from:  Bentley Village Surgery, Boundaries Surgery (Four Marks); Chawton Park Surgery and The Wilson Practice. They are held at one of the four practices - your receptionist will advise

Monday - Friday                6:30pm - 8:00pm

Saturday                          8:00am - 10:00am

Outside of our core hours

When the surgery is closed and you require urgent medical assistance which cannot wait until the surgery re-opens, call 1-1-1. Calls to the NHS111 service are free from both landlines and mobiles.

NHS111 will take details from you and signpost to the most appropriate care given your condition. This could include providing contact with the out-of-hours GP service, advice on self-care or to visit a pharmacy, or to make a routine or next-day appointment with a GP.
