Disruption: on-line appointments and repeat prescriptions
PASSWORD CHANGE

We have changed the software supplier for our appointments system. This will make a big improvement to the way our reception team can handle enquiries. We ask for your patience because this means we have to issue a new login password for every user of our on-line services. Unfortunately, this is a manual task, which could not be started until the transition was made, which is regrettable.  Your new password will be posted to you as soon as possible, but you will not be able to use the system until you receive it.  We apologise for this inconvenience.

Repeat Prescriptions

pillsYour own doctor will decide if the medicine you are taking can be continued without you coming back to see them. If not, you will not be able to request a repeat prescription.

  1. You can now request a repeat prescription online. First you need to contact the practice to get a pin number and then simply click on the link above and follow the instructions. The system is confidential and secure. The link takes you from The Wilson Practice to EMIS, the software system we use to manage appointments.
  2. You can also request a repeat by completing the white form attached to your prescription listing your repeat medicines. You should complete this by ticking which medicines you require and returning it to the Health Centre giving at least two working days' notice.

We have arrangements with Alton and Four Marks chemists to collect the completed prescriptions so that they can be made up ready for you to collect. If you wish to take advantage of this service you should indicate your chosen chemist at the bottom of your form.

If you are using the online service there is a white box at the end for you to type in your destination request.

Some chemists will deliver prescriptions, but this needs to be discussed with the chemist.

Please note to prevent errors occurring we do not take requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone.

We tend to give medicines in 1 or 2 monthly prescriptions. Giving larger quantities on each script tends to increase the amount of wastage. In our area, prescriptions cost the NHS £14 million per year, of that, £1 million is thrown away. Help us to reduce this awful waste of resources;

  • don't order more than you need.
  • don't order everything on your list when you only need one or two things.

Some conditions warrant free prescriptions. If this applies in your case the chemist or your doctor will give you the appropriate form to complete.

For those that still pay, a single prescription currently costs £7.40 (from April 2011), the chemists can sell you a "season ticket" (pre-payment certificate) for repeat prescriptions. These cost £104.00 for a year or £29.10 for three months. .
